Problems in the City

05/09/2019. AmaFYA. Mapesho. Mapenzi. Amachusho. PROBLEMS in the City. “We can NOT solve our problems with the same thinking we used when we created them” Albert Einstein advised.

Whether it is Corruption in Nigeria or Kenya, Xenophobia (Hatred by Black South African People against other Black Foreign Nationals and ensuing violence against them), National Debt, Climate Change/Drought, Food Shortage, Mealie Meal Prices, Power Load Management etc, the above sage is apt.

At a macro level (Personal household level), it is similar. Maybe the question or problem you’re faced with doesn’t have a good answer, or at least not one you can find right away or in any forseeable future. And maybe you can be a little bit comfortable with that. Perhaps, despite all your best efforts, not everything gets resolved before the end of the day or end of the week or end of the month or indeed, end of the Year. And maybe you can get a great night’s sleep, and have a delightful weekend, nonetheless.

Just remember that “Most of us never stop to consider our blessings; rather, we spend the day only thinking about our problems. But since you have to be alive to have problems, be grateful for the opportunity to have them”. – Bernie Siegel advised. Yalikosako iyi advise but reality check confirms that everyone has challenges of different magnitude.

Sure, it’s fine to get all the issues resolved, tied up in a nice, neat conclusion. But it’s not essential, and it rarely happens like that anyway in real life in all continents. You can live a great life for a long time, even with lingering complications and unanswered questions. Don’t put your life on hold waiting for all the problems to be solved. They will never be solved not by nations and not by individuals.

In life, you’re going to have a lot of problems. Everybody’s got problems. Some is worse than others. Some is sickness. Some, like me, you’ve got problems that you don’t like that come up. But you’ve got to handle them. – Tom Benson said. Sometimes a myriad of them. Taputapu. A lot of them at the same time or concurrently. Sometimes, Kuichailafye. That is the way we get by. Life goes on. No one gets out of this life alive anyway.

Living a moderate, public, private or rich and joyous life does not prevent you from resolving the difficult issues. On the contrary, it helps you prioritize things and discover effective ways to deal with them. Work diligently to solve the problems, to get the answers. While you do, live well, gently refusing to let anything keep you down. Keep walking. Keep on pushing ma FILES. Stay well and be blessed. KEKK09/19
